Faculty Quickstart for Class List and Grade Entry

Getting Started
  1. Select Logins icon at the bottom of the NCC homepage
  2. Select the "Faculty and Staff Logins" link
  3. Click on the Faculty Net icon
  4. Enter your user name and password when prompted
  5. Confirm that the Current Option Settings are correct (example for Spring 2007:  Program: Credit Programs; Session: Spring; Year: 2007)

If the Current Option Settings are not correct, reset as follows:

  1. Select Set Options at the bottom of the page.
  2. Set Options to CRED and select the appropriate Session (Fall, Spring, Summer 1 or Summer 2) and Year for the semester you intend to work on.
  3. Click Submit Options; you will return to the Faculty Information page

If you set your options in Faculty Net click here to have you password emailed to you or you may email the Computer Services Support Center at helpdesk@northampton.edu or call 610-861-5413.

To Access and Print a Class List(s)

  1. Cick on Class List button
  2. Verify the Set Options Settings box reflects the correct program, session and year
  3. Verify the Catalog reflects the current catalog year (academic year). NOTE: CR designates credit courses; 06 designates the 200-07 academic year.
  4. Enter the course and section number. Use capitals. Do not put a space between the letters and numbers. Example: EDUC101
  5. Click on Submit Request
  6. Print list: Click File from the upper left corner of the screen; select Print.
  7. To print class list for a different course start again with Step 1
  8. Close browser when finished (very important for security reasons!)

Revised Class List Process
Certification of attendance is to be done electonically via CARS web. Follow the steps below: 

  1. Click on "Grade Entry"
  2. Type your course and section number, then click "Select Courses".
  3. Click on "Midterm" and then "Continue".
  4. When grade entry opens for that course, click on "Set Default Grade" and select "YA" (yes-attended). Then click on "Return to Grade Entry". Now all students will show "YA".
  5. Review the list of students. If any listed have never attended, change the "YA" to "NA" (never attended). (The Records Office will remove "NA" students from your class list.)
  6. Click on "Submit Grade" button.

If there is a student attending your class who is not on your class list, have that student immediately contact the Records Office - Main Campus or Enrollment Office - Monroe Campus.

To Enter Grades via Faculty Net

  1. Click on Grade Entry button.
  2. The Grade Entry screen displays the courses which you are teaching for the session/year entered in Current Option Settings.
  3. Click on circle in front of course.
  4. Click on Select Marked Course (above the course title).
  5. Click on either Midterm (for Failure Notices) or Final.
  6. Click on Continue.
  7. Enter appropriate grade for each student using drop-down menu to the right of the ID. For midterm grades, enter S (Satisfactory) or U (Unsatisfactory) only. For final grades, refer to grading memo from the Records Office. Note: Incomplete grades "I" cannot be entered via FacultyNet. After you have sumbitted grades, return to the Faculty Information Page; Select "Grade Forms". Print out and complete the Incomplete form and return it to the Records Office.
  8. Click on Submit Grades.
  9. To enter grades for a different course start again with Step 1.
  10. Close browser when finished (very important for security reasons!)
  11. A message will be sent to your Northampton email address to verify the grades for that section have been accepted by the CARS database.
