Laraine Demshock

Hello!  I am Laraine Demshock and I am Coordinator of Disability Services and a faculty member at NCC.  I have been at Northampton Community College since 1988 and have seen our services evolve over the years to the "world class" services that we provide today.  Prior to coming to Northampton, I worked as a special education teacher and an educational diagnostician.  So, collectively, I bring many years of experience working with students with disabilities to the students, faculty and staff at NCC.

A life-long Bethlehem resident, I am an alumnus of Liberty High School, Millersville University and Lehigh University.  When not at NCC, I enjoy spending my time with my husband and teen-aged daughter.  I welcome the opportunity to work with students as they attend NCC and encourage you to contact me at ldemshock@northampton.edu to learn more about all that NCC has to offer.

Leigh Cundari

Dan Radogna

Hello, my name is Daniel M. Radogna I am a Disability Services Specialist employed at Northampton Community College (NCC) since July 2006.

After graduating from NCC with an Associate in Arts degree I continued to study at East Stroudsburg University where I earned a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Special Education. My education continued at Lehigh University, earning a Masters Degree plus fifteen credits in Special Education, with certification as Supervisor of Special Education.

I was employed as a Special Education Teacher, Educational Consultant and Supervisor of Special Education with Colonial Intermediate Unit 20 for sixteen years. For ten and a half years thereafter , I was Supervisor of Special Education for Pleasant Valley School District (PVSD) in Monroe County. Upon my retirement from PVSD in 2002, I served as Supervisor of Student Teachers majoring in Special Education/Elementary Education for Kutztown University (KU) until July 2003. After KU I served consecutively as Acting Director of Special Education for Pocono Mountain School District, Nazareth Area School District and Palmerton Area School District until July 2005.

My return to NCC is especially rewarding because of the opportunity to work individually with students on a day-to-day basis. If not for NCC, my post secondary education would not have been possible. It is, therefore, an honor and pleasure to once again return to NCC.

A lifelong resident of Easton, I enjoy my family and friends, sports (mostly as a spectator), especially high school wrestling and college football. I also try to stay fit through regular exercise.

Sue Barnes

Hello, my name is Sue Barnes and I am one of the Disability Services Specialists at NCC.  I work with students at both the Bethlehem and Monroe campus locations.  I began working for NCC in December of 2006 and am very excited to be serving college students with disabilities.

I grew up in State College, PA and attended Penn State to complete my undergraduate studies in Rehabilitation Education.  I completed my dual masters program, in Vocational Rehabilitation Counseling and Vocational Evaluation, at East Carolina University in Greenville, NC.  Upon completing my studies, I worked for a school system in Virginia as a Vocational Evaluator, providing vocational testing for at risk students and students with disabilities.  I then spent several years working in private industry (Workers’ Comp and long term disability) as both a rehabilitation counselor and vocational evaluator.  I then decided to return to my educational roots and began working as a Vocational Rehabilitation Counselor with the Georgia Department of Vocational Rehabilitation.  While at DVR, I worked with high school students with disabilities and assisted them in the process of transitioning from school to work, to training, or to additional education.  I am happy to be working with students again, now at the college level.

After growing up in Pennsylvania, I spent most of my adult life in the South.  My family and I moved back to Pennsylvania, in part, to be closer to our families.  We have been in the Easton area for several years now and are glad to call it home.
