NEW PROGRAM! Certified Pharmacy Technician Program Courses Starting in October in Monroe & Northampton Counties |
According to the U.S. Department of Labor, the need for certified pharmacy assistants is expected to increase by 32% from 2006 through 2016, exceeding the average for all occupations. In response to the demand, the Center for Healthcare Education is offering a new program to train individuals to work under the supervision of a licensed pharmacist in a hospital, community or retail setting. Pharmacy technicians typically assist the pharmacist by receiving and preparing prescriptions; establishing and maintaining patient profiles; preparing insurance claim forms; and stocking and taking inventory of prescription and over-the-counter medications.
