Program Narrative
The Construction Management program is designed to provide a comprehensive and sequential approach to educating construction professionals to perform and function as effective managers or administrators within the construction industry. The program provides critical information and skills sets for the construction professional to utilize while performing a variety of tasks and operations as it relates to the construction field.

Program Features
The Construction Management program offers the student a solid foundation on which to build their managerial skills. Through a balanced mix of liberal arts and specialized courses, success and professional growth are assured. Students will participate in a practicum where they will have the opportunity to perform various construction management functions. The intention is to gain insight into the challenges of managing and functioning at a construction site while providing enhancement of critical thinking, problem solving and communication skills. The program can be completed in the day or evening, on a full-time or part-time basis. A few courses may not be offered in the evening every semester. Please develop your schedule accordingly to avoid a delay in graduating.

Program Requirements
As part of the application process, all students are required to secure a sponsor for the practicum. Assistance will be provided by the construction management staff during the application process. Please contact the Admissions Office at 610-861-5500 to obtain an application.

Program Outcomes

  • Understand the importance of management functions, planning, organizing, leading and controlling.
  • Describe construction operations as they relate to the production process, logistics, specifications and requlatory requirements.
  • Integrage health and safety issues within the confines of regulatory compliance and current construction industry standards.
  • Interpret building and zoning codes and other regulatory requirements.
  • Interpret technical information in the form of architectural drawings, schematics, specifications, graphs and procedures.
  • Demonstrate the ability to work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Apply legal and ethical principles related to the construction industry.
  • Demonstrate a basic understanding of accounting/finance functions as it relates to the construction industry.
