The Corporate & Safety Department is offering the following open enrollment, public courses for the Fall 2008 semester. Participants can enroll (with a credit card) online or toll-free at 1-877-543-0998. Participants can also enroll by mailing a registration form with payment to the College. INDUSTRIAL/INSTITUTIONAL PROGRAMS Fire & Life Safety Preparedness Basics (BETE7191) Designed for institutional and industrial settings, this course will provide information and techniques that will allow the student to identify and assess various fire and life safety hazards. The course will further provide information to guide appropriate mitigating action in order to prevent, control, diminish and or eliminate fire hazards and threats. Emphasis is placed on personal safety for all actions taken. Thurs., Sept. 18, 7-9PM Fee: $25
Employee Safety and Extinguisher Training (ISET) (BETE7085) This course may be used to train new employees in their fire safety responsibilities or to refresh current employees in those same duties. Topics covered will include evacuation, extinguisher selection and use, and basic fire prevention information. Hands-on extinguisher use is a part of this course. Class is held at the Northampton County Fire School located at 6 Nagy’s Hill Road, Bangor, PA 18013. Thurs., Nov. 6, 6:30-9:30PM Fee: $50
Community and Worker Right to Know (RTKN) (BETE7080) This course is designed to meet the annual training requirement of Section 8 of the Pennsylvania Worker and Community Right to Know Act. It provides an overview of the Act as it applies to public sector employees, emphasizing the use and importance of labeling and reading of Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS). Thurs., Nov. 13, 6-10PM Fee: $25
