Introduction

The Center for Adult Literacy & Basic Workforce Development provides educational offerings that enable adults to:

  • Find employment or advance at work
  • Communicate better with others
  • Become more involved in their children's education
  • Become more involved in their local communities
  • Study for the GED or college placement tests
  • Deal more confidently with information in their everyday lives
  • Understand and keep up with current affairs
  • Learn for personal growth and fulfillment

Programs

Serving four counties (Northampton, Monroe, Pike and Wayne), the Center for Adult Literacy & Basic Workforce Development offers the following classes free of charge to qualifying adults:

English as a Second Language (ESL)

Adult Basic Education (ABE)

GED (General Educational Development) Preparation

Family Literacy

Basic Workforce Development

Volunteer Tutor Training

Professional Development for Adult Educators

Contracted Workplace Literacy (under construction)

Basic Skills Workplace Testing (under construction)
