Basic Workforce Development / Employment and Retention Network (EARN)
EARN provides comprehensive education, training, work activities, job placement, and job retention services for welfare recipients and qualifying low-income adults to enable them to progress toward economic self-sufficiency.
Services available to all EARN participants include an individually appropriate mix of the following activities:
- Comprehensive needs assessment and employment goal-setting
- Case management services (including help with placement in job training and work activities as well as necessary supportive services such as child care, transportation, and counseling) throughout program participation
- English as a Second Language (ESL) class
- Adult Basic Education (ABE) class
- GED Preparation class
- Vocational skills training
- Job readiness training
- Job development and assistance with job search
- Job placement and retention services
