Basic Workforce Development / Employment and Retention Network (EARN)

EARN provides comprehensive education, training, work activities, job placement, and job retention services for welfare recipients and qualifying low-income adults to enable them to progress toward economic self-sufficiency.

Services available to all EARN participants include an individually appropriate mix of the following activities:

  • Comprehensive needs assessment and employment goal-setting
  • Case management services (including help with placement in job training and work activities as well as necessary supportive services such as child care, transportation, and counseling) throughout program participation
  • English as a Second Language (ESL) class
  • Adult Basic Education (ABE) class
  • GED Preparation class
  • Vocational skills training
  • Job readiness training
  • Job development and assistance with job search
  • Job placement and retention services
