New Student Orientation and Course Registration Information

We’re very excited you’ve chosen to join the Northampton community! Your journey as a Spartan begins with New Student Orientation. New Student Orientation will prepare you to meet the academic demands of college, connect you to new opportunities, and our Success Navigators will help you create a schedule that fits your lifestyle.

We have two options for you to complete orientation. First, you can start right now by completing a self-paced training in MyNCC. At the end of the orientation, you will be cleared to register for your fall classes.

Students have the option to attend a live online orientation session. We’ll review placement testing, submitting transcripts, and review how to design a schedule that works for you. This is the same information presented in the online self-paced training. Students do not need to attend both.

Frequently Asked Questions

Do I need to take a placement exam before orientation?

It is important that your placement level in English and/or Mathematics is determined before meeting with your Success Navigator. You do not need to have placement testing complete before completing the Preparing to Register orientation. Students should have their high school transcript sent to NCC for review. When placement can’t be determined using your high school transcript or SAT scores, placement testing may be required.  If so, it is important to complete any necessary placement testing prior to orientation.  Questions about your placement level can be directed to the Admissions Office at either campus, Bethlehem (610-861-5500) or Monroe (570-369-1800).
View more information on placement testing.
