New Student Orientation and Course Registration Information

We're very excited you've chosen to join the Northampton community! Your journey as a Spartan begins with New Student Orientation. New Student Orientation will prepare you to meet the academic demands of college, connect you to new opportunities, and we will help you create a schedule that fits your lifestyle.

Our online New Student Orientation - Preparing for Course Registration module has been designed with all students in mind. Degree-seeking, guest or visiting, transfer, dual enrollment, international, and veteran students all have sections to review as a part of the course registration process.

All new students for Fall 2021 can begin accessing their orientation beginning March 9, 2021. Once you receive your Northampton username and password, your next step is to complete the online New Student Orientation. Your username and password are sent to the email address used on your application.

Do I need to take the online New Student Orientation?

If you are a new student at Northampton, you must complete the New Student Orientation. It provides you with next steps to register for your courses at Northampton. Degree-seeking, transfer, dual enrollment, and international students all have sections to review.

Do I need to take a placement exam before orientation?

It is important that your placement level in English and/or Mathematics is determined before meeting with your Success Navigator but it is not required before completing the online New Student Orientation. In fact, we discuss placement in detail in the online New Student Orientation.

Where do I get my MyNCC username and password?

Your Northampton username and password were emailed to you upon your acceptance to NCC. This information was sent to the email address you used to complete your application. You will need this information to access orientation and other online systems at Northampton. If you need assistance obtaining your log in information, please contact our Records Office at record@northampton.edu.

How should I prepare for Online Orientation?

We suggest the following:

- Set aside 30 to 45 minutes to complete

- Have your Northampton username and password available

- Internet access is required to access the online orientation

Who should I contact if I need accommodations due to a disability?

For accommodations, please contact our The Accessibility Resource Center. At the Bethlehem Campus, The Accessibility Resource Center can be reached at 610-861-5342. At the Monroe Campus, The Accessibility Resource Center can be reached at 570-369-1910. The offices can also be reached by email at disabilityservices@northampton.edu .

Do dual enrollment students need to complete orientation?

Yes, there is important information in the online orientation for dual enrollment students. We review your next steps to get registered for classes. If you were previously a dual enrollment student and are now a degree seeking student, you should retake the online orientation, because degree-seeking students need different information.

Who should I contact if I experience trouble accessing the online orientation?

If you are having trouble with your username and password, contact the Northampton Help Desk at helpdesk@northampton.edu.

If you can access the online orientation but are having trouble in the program, contact orientation@northampton.edu.
