The Apartments
Located directly behind the Residence Hall Commons, the Apartments were built in the 1980's with renovations completed in 2021. The building houses many of our second-year or returning students, and is home to the Independent Living Community. Students living in the apartments are required to have and maintain a cumulative GPA of a 2.5.
Each apartment is similar in size and layout. The odd numbered apartments are on the ground floor and the even numbered apartments are on the second floor. Each apartment includes the following:
- Full Kitchen (refrigerator, oven, stove, microwave, sink, cabinets)
- Dining/Living Room (love seat, two chairs, coffee table, TV stand/bookshelf, dining room table with four chairs)
- Two Double Bedrooms (two sets of beds, dressers, desks, chairs, closets in each bedroom)
- Two Bathrooms (sink, toilet, shower in each bathroom)
Apartment Amenities
- Laundry: FREE for all residents! There are no laundry rooms in the Apartments but all apartment residents have access to the Residence Hall Commons, right next door, to use one of the laundry rooms. All of the machines are high efficiency machines, so please buy HE detergent when you are buying supplies to bring to campus (laundry detergent pods are a great choice!).
- Mail: Each apartment resident will be assigned a mailbox number when they arrive on campus. Mail is delivered to the Residence Hall Commons, Monday through Friday each week, during the fall and spring semesters. Students that receive packages will receive an email to their student email indicating they need to stop by the College Mail Room, located in College Center building, to pick up their package.
- WiFi: Wi-Fi connectivity is available in the Apartments at no additional cost to the residents. Stream your favorite show or movie, play games online with friends, or finish research for a paper.
- Work Orders: Something broken or not workng properly in your apartment? Don't worry, just submit a work order! Residents can submit a work order by emailing workorder@northampton.edu and someone from Facilities will do their best to address the problem or concern.
- All apartments contain two double rooms, for a total of four (4) students living in each apartment. Students living in the apartments will need to identify and select a roommate to live with directly in their double room.
- Residents living in the Apartments also have access to the washers and dryers in the residence hall, as the Apartments do not have a separate laundry room located within the apartments.
