The CRS credential is for individuals in recovery from Substance Use Disorders who wish to help others move into and through the recovery process as peer support. Completion of this course will facilitate the student towards Pennsylvania state certification as a certified peer recovery specialist. Understanding the requirements of the certification along with the role of the CRS in practice is critical before committing to training. The curriculum is standardized throughout the state of Pennsylvania. The domains discussed are: Recovery Planning & Collaboration, Substance Use Knowledge, Advocacy, Ethical Responsibility & Professionalism, Safety & Self-Care, Communication, Interpersonal and Professional Skills, and Ethical Competency.
