Michael Byle
Michael began building guitars as a hobby in 1997 after getting out of the military. He met Paul Reed Smith while working as a nurse and went to work for him in 1998.
In 2000, Michael was hired by Joe Knaggs to work in the PRS custom shop as a custom builder and prototyped new research and development projects.
In 2008, Michael started the PRS acoustic department with Steve Fischer, and served as the Senior Acoustic Luthier. In 2015, two guitars that Michael built were inducted into the Metropolitan Museum of Art in NYC.
In 2016, Michael left PRS to pursue his own guitar building and went to work for the inlay company, Pearl Works. Since that time Michael collaborated with several guitar companies both large and small, most notably with projects such as the Martin 2-Millionth guitar, the D-200, and the SC-13.
Michael currently works for the US Navy.
