Support Our Students

Here's How

We are the point of access for many of our students. If it were not for Northampton, higher education would not be an option for many of our students. Even with one of the lowest tuitions in the state, many of our students struggle being able to afford tuition. They balance families, work and school. By making a gift, you can make it possible for a student to attend Northampton Community College.

Spartan Aid (Student Emergency Fund)

Since Covid hit, many of our students who work in the hospitality and retail areas have been significantly impacted. The need for the student emergency fund has never been greater. Spartan Aid awarded over $185,000 this spring to students who had financial insecurity, housing issues, could not pay utilities or had other financial hardships.

This is just a few of the quotes from those students:

"Spartan Aid is just one of the many ways that Northampton assists students in times of need. Even with an unforeseen pandemic Northampton managed to pull together funds to ease stress and to allow students to focus on school during these times. Whether it is guidance on how to manage classes or how to manage new obstacles, NCC always puts their student’s needs first. Without Spartan Aid and the amazing staff at NCC I could not have finished the semester strong and obtained my associates degree. For that, I am extremely thankful to be a Spartan!"

"I am writing this letter to sincerely thank Northampton Community College/Spartan Aid, for their generous contribution in helping my family and I through these horrific times. Without the funding I received from my school (NCC), my family and I wouldn’t be able to eat, keep the lights on or even be able to remain grounded. My family and I couldn’t be more grateful to be apart of such an amazing community. I cannot thank everyone enough at Northampton for all they have done in making sure every student who is in the same situation as myself, received the help they truly needed. I never imagined that this pandemic would affect so many lives, but because of generous people as yourselves, you gave my family hope that everything would be better than okay, and for that I am forever grateful and beyond thankful."

The need continues. Please give your generous support to support those students who have been impacted by the pandemic.

Scholarships

Over 53% of our students require some type of financial aid to attend Northampton. Still there is over $11 million in unmet need. Northampton may be the only point of access for many of our students. Even with the most affordable tuition in Pennsylvania, many do not have the financial resources to gain access to higher education. Scholarships provide this access. This what our students have said:

"This scholarship means more to me than just a monetary gift. It reminds me that I am doing what I was meant to do and it gives me motivation to work harder than I ever have to push through to graduation." ~ AH

"I greatly appreciate this scholarship you have given because with the current job situation and Covid 19, I have had little to no work and so money is very tight right now." ~ CW

"Thank you so much for supporting us and giving me this opportunity to find my passion in life." ~ MH

"I will always attribute my future success with your support." ~ LB
