The Marketing Program offers a strong educational core that focuses on both the academic and practical applications of marketing for employment in a marketing or marketing-related position upon graduation. It emphasizes and prepares students to successfully perform basic marketing, advertising, sales, customer service, online marketing and public relations functions in the workplace. These functions include: identifying, researching and analyzing target markets, developing marketing plans, creating advertising campaigns, devising advertising strategies and sales presentations, establishing products and services that can most effectively be priced and promoted, and marketing products and services via traditional and digital online media. The program is accredited by the Accreditation Council for Business Schools and Programs (ACBSP).

The Marketing program at Northampton focuses on the practical applications of both business and consumer marketing. This program emphasizes employment (specifically in a marketing or marketing-related position, upon graduation) rather than transfer to a four-year college. The program is designed to provide students with the marketing skills needed to enter into the fields of marketing, advertising, public relations, sales, retail management, media planning, customer service or online/digital marketing upon graduation.

Career Opportunities

Students who earn an associate's degree in marketing have a broad understanding of advertising, consumer behavior and the principles of marketing. The degree enables you to qualify for entry level positions in many areas of the field, quite often direct, business and digital marketing. You can find successful careers in sales, customer relations, marketing, market research and more. Advertising agencies, public relations firms and company departments related to brand management and advertising are where marketing professionals can be employed.
