Closing Procedures
When inclement winter weather impacts normal college operations, the college will dictate either a delay (Delayed Opening), closure (Closed) or remote work (Remote). Listed below are the definitions and expectations of students/faculty and staff during such days.
DELAYED OPENING
When the college or a campus has a DELAYED OPENING, classes scheduled at or after the delayed opening time will meet. All staff report at the opening time.
CLOSED
When the college overall or a campus is CLOSED, faculty/staff/students will not be expected to work remotely. All classes – no matter the course format – are cancelled. Students are instructed to check Blackboard for details from their instructors about how these cancelled classes will make up instructional activities.
REMOTE
When the college or an individual campus is REMOTE, all buildings and offices are physically closed, and employees (faculty/staff) who can complete their work remotely will do so. Classes scheduled with remote instructional activities (online, online blended, online remote/other distance mode, and hybrid) will meet remotely. In-person classes will not meet. Students, no matter the course format of the courses they are taking, are instructed to check Blackboard for details from their instructors.
