Out Now: NCC's Literary and Arts Magazine!

"The Laconic" is launched!

The Fall 2015 issue of "The Laconic," Northampton Community College's literary and arts magazine, was launched at a party on November 5. The 12th issue of the magazine contains 100 pages of poems, short stories, photographs and artwork submitted by NCC students, faculty and staff.

Prizes were awarded for the best student submissions. David (Nate) Jaboor won the literary award for his poem "The Boy Who Threw a Jellyfish" and Tyler Clarke took the art award for his acrylic painting "William Turner's Keelman Heaving in Coals by Moonlight." Tyler's work is also on the cover of the issue.

Free copies of "The Laconic" are available at kiosks around campus. Submissions to the magazine are accepted year-round. Deadline for the spring 2015 issue and arts contest is February 29. To submit to "The Laconic" email

"The Laconic" staff includes: Brenna Webb - Club President/Editor-in-Chief; Bianca Ortiz - Vice President; Evelyn Papadopoulos - Treasurer; Lauren Francavilla - Secretary; and Advisory Editors Noel Subervi, Zach Smith, Danielle Martin, Rebecca Tamm, Christina Giacoletti, Kelsey Reifinger, Jennifer Reznick and Hanna McMullan. The club's faculty advisors are Michael Pogach, assistant professor of English, and Abigail Michelini, English instructor.
