Women's History Month Event - The Janes Documentary Viewing
Join us in the CCEI to view segments of the HBO documentary, The Janes, in honor of Women’s History Month and highlighting POWerful People!Presented by CCEI and Bethlehem Women’s Club - this film's story begins in 1972, when Chicago police raided an underground network called "Jane," where seven women were arrested for providing safe, affordable, but illegal abortions. Defying restrictive laws, the Catholic Church, and the Chicago Mob, the Janes used code names and safe houses to secretly assist women in need.
