Why Study Creative Writing at NCC?

NCC's Creative Writing Specialized Diploma program is designed for students interested in becoming professional creative writers. Students who complete this program will produce an author portfolio that will allow them to begin seeking publication, and/or begin applying to four-year writing programs. Students will have opportunities to interact with visiting writers, attend readings and workshops, organize readings and workshops, and present their work to the NCC community. The Creative Writing Specialized Diploma can be earned alongside the AA degree in Liberal Arts (English or other concentration) or taken on its own.

 

What You'll Learn

In NCC's Creative Writing program, you'll be equipped with the tools and knowledge to create and revise original creative works using varied literary techniques. Not only will you gain an understanding of the historical and cultural contexts of literature and your own writing, but you'll also learn how to communicate effectively in multiple creative genres and with diverse audiences. Plus, our program covers the publishing industry, providing you with trustworthy resources and various options to seek publication of your creative works. By completing this certificate, you'll be ready to confidently share your writing with the world.
