What We Offer
Northampton provides the essential skills to respond quickly and confidently should an emergency arise. Our interactive BLS/CPR/First Aid training classes feature state of the art training simulators which allow students to see if they are succeeding in saving a life and provide clear recommendations for improvement. Classes are available for healthcare professionals, organizations and the general public.
The Community Health Worker course is geared towards participants who want to work in either a community-based or inpatient setting and contribute to improve health outcomes to the community where they reside. Topics include the role of the community health worker, ethics and professional skills, teamwork and communication, documentation and assessment procedures, chronic disease overview, accessibility to health care services, and care coordination and system navigation. This accredited training program satisfies the educational requirement needed to seek PA CHW certification.
NCC's Dental Assisting program features hands-on instruction and clinical observation to train participants for chair-side dental assistance. Program instruction includes preparation of instruments, materials, and equipment; assessment and education of clients; and preparing the client for his/her appointment. Course fees include books, handouts, and an externship arranged by the college. Learn the essential skills to save lives and reduce injuries in the critical first moments after an emergency has occured. Our comprehensive training features hands-on instruction and includes certification exams where applicable. Programs are held at the Fowler Family Southside campus and the Monroe County campus. NCC is a PA Dept. of Health EMS Educational Institute for BLS Training Programs and holds accreditation number 0068109725.
The Nurse Aide Program is an intensive 120 hour course. This program prepares the participant with the skills needed to take the National Nurse Aide Assessment Program Competency Examination (NNAAP) for placement on the Pennsylvania Nurse Aide Registry and begin a successful career as a Nurse Aide in a long term care facility, hospital or other healthcare setting. Participants must be Pennsylvania residents, at least 18 years of age and have a high school diploma or GED to enroll. Basic Life Support for Healthcare Providers (BLS) is included. If you reside outside of Pennsylvania, please contact your State Licensing Board about reciprocity.
CBI Healthcare Education offers the programs that nurses need. Whether you are recent graduate preparing for the NCLEX, a current nurse looking to fulfill your mandatory contact hours or a nurse who had a license but had it lapse and needs to complete a reactivation program to re-enter the workforce. Classes are offered in August and January.

Northampton Community College is conducting free statewide training for Personal Care Home staff and administrators and staff licensed agencies serving individuals with intellectual disabilities. The training is funded by the Department of Human Services Bureau of Human Services Licensing and each continuing education class is equal to three (3) annual training hours, unless otherwise noted. Participation is limited to staff persons working in Pennsylvania’s licensed personal care homes, assisted living residences, community homes for individuals with intellectual disabilities, family living homes, adult training facilities and vocational facilities for individuals with intellectual disabilities.
Comprehensive course in the fundamentals and practice of phlebotomy (blood specimen collection) includes venipuncture, capillary collection, safety, medical terminology, orientation to the clinical laboratory and health care, and specimen handling and processing, blood pressure, pulse and basic life support for healthcare provider. Program is 120 hours of lecture and lab. The student must complete 100 successful venipunctures at a clinical site within a minimum of 80 hours. Externships must begin within two months of the completion of the classroom portion of the program. Upon completion of the course, students are eligible to sit for a national certification examination and may seek employment as phlebotomists.
NCC’s virtual Trauma Informed Care certificate will enable participants to develop the knowledge and skills to understand the impacts of trauma on individuals, and how to best support trauma survivors when engaging with them in a professional capacity. Teachers, human service workers, first responders, healthcare workers, social workers, and day care workers will benefit from attending this program.
