Lehigh Valley Safety Committee

In October 2005, an alliance was formed with the Occupational Safety & Health Administration (OSHA) to foster safer and more healthful Lehigh Valley workplaces. This alliance formed the basis of the Lehigh Valley Safety Committee (LVSC), a safety and health collaboration between private employers, non-profit organizations, healthcare, academia and government.

In 2021, the Lehigh Valley Safety Committee was elevated to Ambassador status. By raising the LVSC’s status, OSHA is recognizing the consortium’s success in building and maintaining a productive cooperative relationship with the agency. As an Alliance Program Ambassador, the LVSC will continue to share relevant health and safety information with its membership and facilitate understanding of workers’ rights and employers’ responsibilities under the Occupational Safety and Health Act.

Through monthly presentations, quarterly events and annual expos, the LVSC provides health and safety education. All events are free and all industries and individuals are welcome to attend events and participate on the committee.

Please note: parking can be challenging for meetings held at the Fowler Campus.  Please refer to the parking map (PDF) for assistance.

Upcoming Meetings/Presentations

October 8 - Are you "Stuck In A Compliance Based Culture"?
Regulatory compliance is important, but it's merely a foundation for workplace safety. Safety programs, audit checklists, and safety meetings are also important pieces. Ask yourself, "What happens when no one is watching?" "What happens when management is not onsite?" "What makes an employee feel empowered to employ Stop Work Authority?" Simply checking the compliance box means nothing when you are talking to an injured worker's family. Let's discuss getting past mere compliance and collectively start the journey of listening and seeking to understand. Presenter: Kevin Lambert, MEP SHEQ Advisor
Tues., Oct. 8, 2-4pm, Fowler Family Southside Center, Room 505 or virtually
