College resources help students invest in their futures without accruing massive debt
At Northampton Community College (NCC), affordability meets quality, opening doors for all students, regardless of need or background, to pursue their educational dreams—without the burden of overwhelming debt. With tuition rates among the lowest in Pennsylvania, NCC ensures that cost is never a barrier to opportunity.
Whether students are preparing for a career, planning to transfer to a four-year institution, or returning to school to gain new skills, NCC offers a high-quality education at a fraction of the cost. In fact, in-county students can save up to $40,000 annually compared to the cost of attending other colleges and universities in the region. A smaller price tag, though, doesn't mean sacrificing quality. NCC students enjoy small class sizes, personalized attention from award-winning and accomplished faculty, and access to the latest learning resources. Plus, student services like peer and professional tutoring, counseling, and career development services are available at no extra cost.
A Leader in Financial Aid and Scholarships
Affordability at NCC goes beyond low tuition. NCC is committed to helping students graduate with little or no student debt, setting the stage for lifelong success. With one of the largest private scholarship programs among community colleges in Pennsylvania, NCC awards up to 1,000 scholarships each year. And last year, NCC distributed $53 million in financial aid, providing critical support through scholarships, grants, and work-study.
More than 50% of NCC students receive some form of aid, and NCC provides personalized support to help students and families complete the FAFSA, apply for scholarships, and meet important deadlines.
The Smart Way to Invest in the Future
Accessible education has always been one of NCC’s core values, and is not simply about affordability. Flexible learning formats—including online, hybrid, and evening classes—help students balance school with work and family life, so they don’t have to choose between furthering their education and providing for themselves and their families.
The Spartan Cares program provides resources to help students who struggle with basic needs like transportation, utility bills, and groceries. For example, a bus pass for the semester might be the deciding factor for a student to stay in school. The College also operates food pantries at both the Bethlehem and Pocono campuses to help students who are food insecure.
NCC even offers discounted childcare at its on-campus Children’s Centers, which are licensed by the Department of Human Services, rated four-star facilities through the State of Pennsylvania's Keystone STARS program, and accredited by the National Association for the Education of Young Children. So, NCC students can study knowing their children are safe and learning in a respected and recognized curriculum.
At NCC, affordability isn’t just about saving money—it’s about investing wisely in the future. NCC graduates leave with confidence, skills, and the support of a college that truly believes in their potential, making the value of an NCC education truly unmatched.
