On Tuesday, January 21st, at approximately 2pm, the Department of Public Safety received a report of a sexual assault - fondling that occurred at the Bethlehem Campus. The assault occurred on January 15th between 4pm and 5pm on a Lanta bus in the residence hall parking lot. The victim reports that they were inappropriately touched by the male driver of the bus.
Always Take Precautions
- Call Public Safety if you need an escort or feel uncomfortable.
- Be aware of your surroundings and leave if something doesn't feel right.
- Trusting your instincts. If you feel unsafe, get to a safe place and call for help.
- Telling someone where you are going.
- Not every person you meet has good intentions. Be cautious of strangers and keep a safe distance.
- There is safety in numbers, so travel with friends.
- Know that perpetrators are responsible for sexual assaults. Perpetrators take advantage of vulnerability and seek opportunites to commit sexual assaults.
