High School Vocational, Career & Technical Agreements
Northampton Community College

NCC Agreements

Established articulation agreements offer qualified high school graduates the opportunity to earn college credits for programs completed in high school. Through Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) at NCC students can apply skills and experience obtained through their secondary education towards a future degree. Participating high schools and pre-approved high school programs/courses that meet college-level standards can be found below.

High school students may, also, be eligible for transfer of credit based on AP or IB scores or can choose to explore other test-out options, such as CLEP exams. More information about opportunities for credit can be found on the Prior Learning Assessment website.

How do I submit to receive credit?

To be eligible for credit, you must first enroll as a student at Northampton. If you have not done so already, please submit your application for admission and review your enrollment checklist.

Once you have been accepted, you will receive steps to access your NCC assigned email address. All communications will be sent to your NCC account, so be sure to begin checking that email regularly.

Contact your high school instructor, guidance counselor or student services office to obtain and complete the request for credit paperwork. There is both a student portion and high school portion of this paperwork that needs to be completed fully and signed before submitting to NCC for credit evaluation.

Your high school will, also, need to send NCC an official high school transcript on your behalf (transcripts@northampton.edu).

*Students are eligible for credit evaluation for two years following graduation.

Submit your Request for Credit paperwork. This can be emailed by the student or the high school to pla@northampton.edu.

Many of the courses a student may be eligible to receive credit for are first semester courses in your NCC program. It is recommended that your request for credit be processed before starting your first semester at NCC to assist your advisor in helping you select appropriate classes during registration.

Contact your NCC Academic Advisor to review credits that have been awarded and to discuss next steps in the registration process. More information about academic advising can be found on the Academic Advising webpage.
