The federal government provides grants for eligible students attending college or career school. Most types of grants, unlike loans, are sources of financial aid that generally do not have to be repaid. There are several different types of federal grants:
The Federal Pell Grant is a need-based form of financial aid that helps students pay for college and does not have to be repaid. The amount awarded varies based on factors such as a student's financial need and their enrollment intensity or number of credits taken during the semester.
The Federal Supplemental Educational Opportunity Grant (FSEOG) provides need-based financial aid to students with exceptional financial need and does not have to be repaid. Because NCC has limited FSEOG funding, awards are given to eligible students on a first-come, first-served basis until funds are exhausted.
