PPL Live Line Electric Safety Demonstration
PPL Electric’s Live Line Safety Exhibit is a scaled down 7,200-volt electrical distribution grid featuring live electrical wires, utility poles, a transformer and solar panels. Using ladders, gloves, shovels and various other objects in a controlled environment, trained PPL staff, wearing tested personal protective equipment, will create arcs and sparks that can occur as a result of contact with energized electrical equipment – above and below ground.During this hour long presentation, the visuals and lessons provided will help reinforce the importance of safety awareness around power lines and other electrical equipment.
