Announcing New Programs for Fall 2026 at NCC

Northampton Community College (NCC) is excited to launch several new programs for the fall 2026 semester as we continue to meet the needs of our students and communities. NCC is adding programs in entrepreneurship and innovation, machining fundamentals, precision machining and CNC basics, precision machining and tool design, and a weekend program in business management. 

Turn your ideas into action. Students in one of the entrepreneurship and innovation programs will learn how to evaluate opportunities, develop business strategies, and launch new ventures.  

Entrepreneurship and Innovation, SD or AAS: 

  • Learn product development and business startup skills 
  • Access mentorship and networking opportunities through the CIE 
  • Earn a stackable credential you can combine with another major or program to help pave the way in the industry of your choosing 

  • Receive hands-on entrepreneurial learning and internship opportunities

Manufacturing is booming in the region. If you like working with your hands, one of NCC's three new precision machining programs may be right for you. 

Machining Fundamentals, SD: 

  • Learn technical and mechanical skills used in modern industry 
  • Learn about shop safety 

  • Apply quality control methods used in modern manufacturing environments
     

Precision Machining and Tool Design, AAS: 

  • Learn manual machining, CNC operations, and CAD/CAM technologies 
  • Design, manufacture, and inspect precision components 
  • Develop advanced skills in multi-axis CNC programming, tool design, and GD&T application 

  • Prepare for careers in manufacturing, toolmaking, and precision engineering
     

Precision Machining and CNC Basics, Certificate: 

  • Build a strong foundation in manual machining and learn basic CNC (Computer Numerical Control) technology  
  • Learn about the safe operation of lathes, mills, grinders, and drill presses 
  • Prepare for entry-level machining and manufacturing careers or further study in CNC and automated production
     

For students, working professionals, and career changers seeking a flexible path to advance their education, the weekend business management specialized diploma offers a convenient option that can be completed in less than a year.    

Business Management, SD (Weekend Program): 

  • Develop practical business knowledge and leadership skills  
  • Receive credit for relevant professional business experience  
  • Enhance your career opportunities with a specialized diploma  
  • Create a convenient pathway toward an associate degree
