“[NCC] focuses heavily on career readiness to position students for the professional world,” says Glose. This goes beyond traditional advising to include immersive experiences where students can apply their learning. In the 2024–25 academic year alone, NCC hosted seven job fairs and held specialized networking and etiquette dinners for students to polish their soft skills and build real-world connections.
Northampton also connects students directly with employers through initiatives like the Winter Job Shadow program, which recently gave 150 students the opportunity to “test drive” potential careers by observing professionals in real workplace settings.
To further prepare students for the hiring process, the Center for Career Development partners with industry leaders to host mock interviews. During these sessions, students receive direct feedback from recruiters, helping them refine their communication skills, professionalism, and authentic self-presentation.
