Jenny Ro: 2024 All-PA Scholar

Jenny Ro is a business administration major at Northampton Community College (NCC). She serves as her PTK chapter president and is a presidential ambassador representing the college at various events and guiding other students wherever possible as they complete their own journey at NCC.

Ro grew up in a household that was impacted by drug abuse, domestic violence, and generational cycles of trauma. “Although I never want these events to fully define the individual I am today, I have always taken comfort in the concept that we as humans have the control and ability to make the conscious decision to grow in spite of life’s tragedies,” she says.

Ro will be graduating from NCC this spring and will pursue her bachelor’s degree at Temple University in the fall of 2024. She'd like to become a human resource manager, helping to resolve conflicts and bridge opposing perspectives in the workplace. She feels her strength is in managing people and ensuring proper communication between all parties. Ro would like to work in real estate someday as well, noting that the skills taught under a human resources management degree can also provide additional support for real estate professionals in managing clients and interacting with other agents.

“During my time at NCC, I have had the opportunity to take on various leadership roles that have taught me the value of hard work. Most importantly, I have learned how to seek out opportunities instead of waiting for them to come to me. I grew up watching my dad sacrifice time, money, and physical labor in order to invest into his business. It is thanks to him that I was able to adopt a similar work ethic that will serve me well in my future endeavors,” she says.
