Announcing Youth Auditions for Gypsy at the Bill Mutimer Summer Theatre Series
Auditions will be held in the Lipkin Theatre, on Saturday March 14th from 9:30 am to 1:30pm. Sign-Up link is below. Auditioners will be seen in the order in which they arrive.
We will be casting the roles of Young June, Young Louise, and approximately 4 young newsboys for the Vaudeville show within Gypsy.
Below is a link to a Google Drive, which contains the sheet music and vocal tracks to be used for auditions. Everyone auditioning should sing the specified excerpts from “Baby June and Her Newsboys” along with the provided tracks. You only need to learn either the Baby June/Louise cut, OR the Newsboys cut. If you can do any tricks - cartwheel, split, handstand, etc, we’d love to see that too.

This year the rehearsal process will be different than in years past, as the children in our show will have to learn blocking, choreography, lines, and songs. In the past, we only brought our Youth Choir in at the end of the process, this summer, we will be requiring them to attend some, but not all rehearsals.
Gypsy rehearses from Sunday June 7th through Tuesday June 23rd. 9am to 6pm Tuesdays through Sundays. Sunday June 21st we will have our sing through with the band from 6pm to 10pm. Tuesday June 23rd will be our 10am to10 pm tech day.
Performances run Wednesday June 24th through Sunday July 5th. Weds, Thurs, Fri and Sat shows are at 7:30pm. Sunday shows are at 2:00pm. On July 4th, our performance is at 5:00pm.
Child actors will need to be available for all performances this summer. All Child actors will receive a small stipend for their time.
