Commencement

Pick up your cap and gown at these locations. You MAY send someone else to pick up your cap and gown for you if you are unable to.

Bethlehem Campus cap and gown pick up at the Bookstore:

• January 19-22 from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 
• January 23 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. 
• Day of Commencement: January 24 from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m.

Pocono Campus cap and gown pick in Kapp Hall 102A:

• January 15 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• January 20-21 from 10:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m.
• After January 21, you will have to pick up a cap and gown at the Bethlehem Campus Bookstore.

Friday, January 23, 2026 at 4:00 PM

• Student Life Zone, College Center Building, Bethlehem Campus
• Go to the check-in table when you arrive

On Saturday, January 24, 2026:

• Graduates arrive 10:00 a.m. in Student Life Zone of the College Center to put on robes
• 10:30 a.m. Line of March Forms
• 10:45 a.m. Procession Starts
• 11:00 a.m. Ceremony Begins – lasts about 2 hours
• Your diploma will be mailed to your home address you have on file in Workday.
• The cap and gown are yours as a keepsake of this milestone.

• Your guests will not need tickets to attend the ceremony. Seating will be limited and first come/first serve basis.
• Doors Open at 9:00 a.m. at the Arthur L. Scott Spartan Center (Bethlehem campus). 
• A live stream can be viewed in the Student Life Zone if it makes it more convenient for families with small children or people who prefer not to be in a large crowd.
• Anyone unable to attend can view the ceremony on the live stream at Northampton's web site at northampton.edu/commencement. Live stream starts 30 minutes prior to the ceremony.
• A reception for the graduates and their families and friends will be held immediately following the ceremony in Laub Lounge on the second floor of College Center Building. 

• The College will make a decision about whether the ceremony will be held.
• That decision will be communicated on the website northampton.edu
• The back up plan is to hold the ceremony on Sunday, January 25, 2026.
• If the College cannot safely hold the ceremony on Sunday, the ceremony will be canceled and not rescheduled.
