Industrial Skills Workforce Development Training & Pre-Apprenticeship Programs
Workforce development creates economic prosperity for individuals, companies, and communities. NCC’s short-term career readiness programs provide job seekers with the skills and credentials they need to embark on a new career while providing employers with the skilled workers they're seeking. Our grant-funded, entry level programs provide basic training for high demand positions and are FREE to those who qualify. Whether you're interested in employment, an apprenticeship, and/or further education, these programs will set you on a path to success!
- Industrial Skills in Manufacturing Registered Pre-Apprenticeship (10 week Training/240 hours)
Teaches technical skills to prepare students for entry-level Industrial Maintenance Technician or Apprenticeship positions. Skills include: measurement and shop math, mechanical fabrication, basics of electricity & motor control, OSHA-10 safety training, introduction to PLCs pneumatics/hydraulics, troubleshooting, and more. - Career Pathways to Manufacturing (8-week training / 160 hours)
Promotes awareness of the many exciting career paths within the high-paying, in-demand field of Manufacturing. Students go on several company tours and receive basic training to prepare for careers as Production Technicians, Machine Operators, and Quality Inspectors. - Fundamentals of Precision Machining Registered Pre-Apprenticeship (10 Week Training/265 hours)
Provides entry-level skills for Precision Machine Operators with opportunity to earn several NIMS credentials.
Our programs feature updated curriculum based on feedback from our valued industry partners. We apply our successful training model, blending on-line learning, hands-on and classroom instruction, and plant tours to reinforce key concepts. Company guest speakers create excitement about manufacturing careers, and a designated student success coach helps students overcome barriers (daycare, transportation, lack of housing, language). Team building, root cause analysis, and other employability skills are woven throughout.
