The AAS in Health Sciences degree is designed to provide students with a broad understanding of the healthcare system and career options, as well as, provide a solid foundation of knowledge, abilities and skills for those interested in health education or community health worker. Through this program, students will learn how to use an evidence-based approach to public health education and health awareness to improve the community health overall. This degree can foster a career in healthcare immediately upon graduation, or students can continue their education at a four year institution and pursue their BS in health communication, health administration or public health.

Careers in Health Sciences

The opportunities for careers in this field are endless and the demand for educated health professionals continues to grow. According to the United States Department of Labor’s Bureau of Labor Statistics (bls.gov), Health Educators and Community Health Care Workers are expected to see a growth rate of 7% over the next 10 years. The program is also designed for transferability and can be used as the foundation for a BS in health communication, health administration or public health at a four year institution.
