About
The Guitar Amplifier Program at Northampton Community College (NCC) is a full-time, hands-on, 4-month learning experience for students who want to learn how guitar amplifiers work and how to turn technical skills into real-world opportunities. This program is ideal for aspiring amp builders, audio techs, product designers, and entrepreneurs looking to combine creativity, engineering, and business.
Students learn the principles of tube and solid-state amplifier design while constructing professional-grade tube amplifiers, custom speaker cabinets, and a solid-state amplifier. Expert instructors guide students through both traditional and modern techniques, from circuit analysis and soldering to cabinet fabrication, diagnostics, and testing, ensuring each student graduates with the skills to build reliable, great-sounding amplifiers.
