CCAMPIS Grant

Why Apply For The CCAMPIS Grant?

Being a college student and a parent shouldn't mean choosing between your education and quality care for your child.

Through Northampton Community College's Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program, eligible student parents may receive reduced or no-cost childcare while pursuing their education at NCC.

CCAMPIS-supported childcare is available through NCC's Early Childhood Education Lab Schools: Reibman Hall Children's Center on our Bethlehem Campus and Hannig Family Children's Center on our Pocono Campus.

CCAMPIS is about more than childcare. The program connects student parents with individualized support, college and community resources, family engagement opportunities, and a network designed to help parents stay enrolled, make progress, and reach graduation.

The purpose of CCAMPIS is to help you – a parent with a young child or children – succeed in school.

CCAMPIS Will Provide:

  • Childcare tuition assistance based on eligibility and current program guidelines
  • The support of a Family Success Coordinator to guide your use of NCC student success and community resources
  • Engagement Events each semester related to parenting or student success
  • PACT (Parents And Children Together) family activities

You May Qualify If You:

  • Are the parent of a child who needs childcare while you pursue your education
  • Are enrolled in NCC degree, certificate, or diploma program
  • Meet applicable federal financial-need requirements
  • Meet NCC CCAMPIS academic and program eligibility requirements
  • Have a child already enrolled in or eligible for enrollment at Reibman Hall Children's Center or Hannig Family Children's Center, subject to classroom availability and applicable enrollment requirements

You Will Commit To:

  • Completing required CCAMPIS documentation before receiving program benefits
  • Attending designated engagement events, such as parent/teacher workshops, family events, campus/academic events, and tutoring services
  • Meeting with the Family Success Coordinator throughout the semester
  • Participating in PACT and other family activities at the Children's Center
  • Completing required program evaluations or feedback
  • Notifying the CCAMPIS team of changes that may affect your eligibility or child care needs

About CCAMPIS

The Child Care Access Means Parents in School (CCAMPIS) program is a federal initiative of the U.S. Department of Education designed to support the participation of eligible low-income parents in postsecondary education through access to childcare services.

At Northampton Community College, CCAMPIS brings together high-quality early childhood education, individualized family support, student-success resources, and family engagement to create a coordinated system of support for student parents and their children.

Through this two-generation approach, NCC is investing not only in a student's ability to attend college, but in the educational opportunity and long-term success of the entire family.
