Nursing Continuing Education

CBI Healthcare Education offers the programs that nurses need. Reactivation courses are designed for nurses who want to reinstate their licenses, international nurses looking to practice in Pennsylvania and nurses who have been away from practice and want to update their skillset. Reacitvation classes include classroom and clinical lab. Practice Review programs are designed for graduate nurses preparing for the NCLEX or for nurses who hold a valid license but haven't worked in the clinical workplace for over a year. Classes are offered in August and January.

How to Get Started

  • Confirm with the State Board of Nursing that you have a valid RN/LPN license, and if you need to reactivate an inactive license.
  • If you have an out-of-state or country license, please contact the board of nursing of the state/country the license was issued in for requirements for PA licensure.
  • Review enrollment requirements by attending a free Information Session. Please attend an information session no later than one month prior to the program start date.

RN & LPN Reactivation

This program is designed for nurses (RN or LPN) who are returning to practice, updating their skills or reactivating their Pennsylvania State license. It includes a clinical and lecture component with an emphasis on the nursing process, current nursing practices, nursing trends and ethical/legal issues and pharmacology/drug administration.

This course is offered in the fall and spring at our Fowler Family Southside Center location.

Virtual Lecture: Mon., Aug. 25 - Dec. 15, 2025, 6 - 10 p.m.

Skills Lab: Sat.-Sun., Oct. 11-12, 2025, 9 a.m. - 5:30 p.m.

Clinical: Sat. - Sun., TBD

Cost: $1900, plus $175 materials fee

Hours: 180 contact hours (60 lecture, 20 skills & hospital orientation, 100 clinical)

 

LPN Reactivation:

Cost: $1550, plus $175 materials fee

Hours: 124 contact hours (44 lecture, 20 skills & hospital orientation, 60 clinical)

RN & LPN Review

This program is designed to review basic nursing knowledge and incorporate information on more recent technological advancements. This course includes a skills lab and lecture component. It's also an excellent review for graduates preparing for the NCLEX.

This course is offered twice a year in the fall and spring at our Fowler Family Southside Center location.

In order to participate in the Nurse Review program, participants must complete the following requirments prior to the first day of class. All forms are included in the PDF below.

  • If licensed, please bring a copy of your state nursing license.
  • Current BLS cerification.
  • Completed Student Information Form and Student Emergency Contact Form
  • Purchase textbook. Please note: The following textbook needs to be purchased prior to the start of class and will not be available in the College bookstore:
